It is Time to Build

There is a cry in the heart of the Father for a house to be built for Him. Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?Isaiah 66:1

God is wanting to dwell with His people. He does not want to visit in a revival – He wants to dwell with us. This requires us a building a house for Him. This house starts with each one of us. As we are joined together, we will be built into a spiritual house. These houses will be found in families, communities, cities, nations and businesses. They will be joined to one another through strategic apostolic alignments. I believe this is what Jesus meant when He said, “In my Father’s house there are many mansions.” John 14:2 And when all the houses are built and connected – the house of God will fill the earth and He will come and dwell in the midst of it.

This is what God’s heart has always longed for – this is why He married the nation of Israel. He desired to be present in her midst. Israel is our type and shadow. They were to be a light set on a hill and all nations were to come to seek and find the God of Israel. They became a holy nation. They became a peculiar people, separated unto God. And this is exactly who we are called to be according to 1 Peter 2:9. But I believe we have, largely, failed in our mission. Perhaps, as Haggai once said, we have been more concerned with building our ministries and our own houses than the House of God. Whatever the reasons, the bottom line is that we have not built the House of God and I strongly believe that now is the time to change that.

There has been much talk around the USA elections and that Donald Trump is a Cyrus that God is raising up for this time. I believe this to be true, but the emphasis that we need to catch is that God raised Cyrus so that the Jews could return to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. If God is raising a Cyrus, it is because He has building plans in mind. We, the Ekklesia, need to understand the times and get ready to build the house of God. Heaven is doing their part, we need to be prepared to do ours.

The first major hurdle we face is that I believe we do not even really understand HOW to build God's house. We know how to build churches and ministries, but His house is far beyond this. His house has Jesus Christ as the cornerstone - a real revelation of the Christ is the starting place. Not simply knowing him as a Saviour, but the revelation of Him as the Christ, the Commander of the armies of the hosts of heaven. Jesus - the suffering servant and the triumphant overcomer, the One who holds ALL things together in Him. We need a fresh REAL revelation of JESUS.

Then we need the foundation of the apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:20). We need prophets who equip the saints. Each and every believer should be taught how to access the realms of heaven, how to administrate in the courts and how to work with the church in heaven - just as a starting point. We need wise master builders , like Paul, who have the passion and vision to help the saints build according to the pattern they have received from the Father. We need apostles who understand how to align the saints so that they are empowered to fulfil their destiny. When this starts to happen, the saints become the living stones that can be built into the spiritual house that Peter talks about in 1 Peter 2:5.

It does not stop there. As the living stones are perfectly positioned and built into the walls, we will see a new economy taking shape. I recently heard a teaching on how the walls of the house represent the economy and that makes a lot of sense to me. As each believer becomes a living stone - freed from the thinking and systems that held us captive - we will find our place in the wall. We will begin to operate in the gifts and callings that have been allotted to us and , like the stewards in Luke 16, we will begin to make a profit for our master. This results in a new flow of the economy. No longer are we standing as poor Christians looking for a handout from everyone, but we are utilising what God has given us and doing business on behalf of the Father. We are creating wealth with Him, using the tools He has given us. But I am getting ahead of myself.

Right now, there is, what I call, an 'Isaiah 66' cry coming from heaven - God is looking for His house. He is looking for those who will willingly lay aside 'their own thing' to build His house. He is looking for those who can hear His heart and are willing to pay the price to build according to His pattern. As we have entered the year 5777, the building blueprints have been released from heaven, but who will hear and who will have a heart to obey?
